What are the registration fees? $110 per player, 2nd player: $75 What does the league provide, and what do we need to have/buy? The league provides each team with bats, balls, catcher’s gear, championship trophies, etc. The league provides uniform jerseys, socks and hats for all players. Depending on the level of play, families are responsible for other parts of the uniform (pants etc.). Your child will need a baseball/softball glove and a batting helmet. Once they move beyond the T-Ball level players should wear cleats. All boys must wear athletic supporters. Will my child be able to play on the same team as his friends from school? For our Rookies, T-Ball, Farm 7 and Micro Softball programs teams are formed, as much as possible, based on the school the child attends. (Children who attend private schools are generally placed on the team representing the closest public elementary school.) Please be aware that it is simply not always possible to accommodate all requests. For example, if there are 16 children from one school they cannot all play on the same team; roster size is typically limited to 11-14 players. You will have the opportunity to make special requests when you register. Those who register early have the best chance of having their requests met. For all other age levels teams are formed through a draft system. This assures competitive balance among teams, assuring a more enjoyable experience for all. Why does my child have to go through tryouts? A better name for the tryout process is player evaluation. This helps us assure that teams are evenly balanced. It also helps assure that a player is placed in the division that is most appropriate for his/her abilities. Every effort is made to keep the evaluation process low-key and fun. All players will be placed on a team. When does the season start and end? Here’s a rough schedule: · Early February: tryouts (for ages 9 and above) · Early March: teams are formed, older levels start practice · Early April: Upper levels start games; lower levels start practices) · Early-to-mid-April: Lower levels start games · Mid-June: Season ends for older levels · Early June: Season ends for younger levels · Mid-June to early July: tournament teams selected, tournament play begins How much of a time commitment is there for my child? For younger players the norm is 2-3 events (practices and/or games) per week. For older players 3-4 events is more common. I do not want to enter my credit card information online.
